MISSION>>>ROLE PLAY

12 JUNE 2009

Finally, the time is coming! It is the time for the role play. The male group is represented by Ammar and Asyraf. Exactly at 8.00 a.m. , Miss Dila is coming to the class. Asyraf and Ammar seem nervous. Miss Dila told us that we are going to learn lesson 5 and 6 today. Her face look pale. She has a fever, I thought. Yesterday, she go to the clinic. She told us that she was very excited because she know all the name of instrument in the clinic. I hope I can be like her. She is actually should not be coming today as doctor had advice her. But she insist to come. I am really appreciate it. Yesterday too, her final exam's result is released and she doing it excellent. She is a very bright student. Although she works as a lecturer in INTEC (at young age, that was awesome) , she managed to study for her exam at night. I don't think I can do it. The lesson is begin. We learn on how to explain to the patient about his or her diet. In the middle of the lesson, Miss Dila remember something. Something that must be done today. She asked,"Don't you have a role play today?". Everyone is laughing. "How could you! You always to this to me. It is mean you know", she added. We don't have any attention to do that. We thought she want to do the role play after the lesson.

Then we start. The ladies goes first. The female group use the laptop and LCD projector for the role play. They are very creative. The sound effect make it real like a TV drama. It is really touching. Then, it's the time for the male group. Asyraf act as a doctor while Ammar as a patient. It is just a simple role play but it works. Ammar really look like a patient, as he has a fever and cold today. His face look really pale. While Asyraf is very fluent in English. The role play look like real though they never have a rehearsel before. They are a good actor. But one occurrence that I can't forget is when Asyraf ask the patient to come in, all of a sudden, unexpectedly the one who come in to the class is not Ammar but Bukhari who are late. He is really in hot soup. Bukhari thought the class is start at 10.00 a.m. He didn't remember that the class has been moved earlier to 8.00 a.m. Then, Nazrin added,"He is going to Al-Awwal Restaurant teacher and having a nice roti canai there". Everyone is laughing.

It's time to make the decision which group deserve to be the winner but it is very difficult. Thus, both group are win. Miss Dila has promised us a surprise last week. " Emm, what is it?", I thought.

At 12.00 P.M. , we arrive at Kolej Cemara. Miss Dila has wait for us. From far away, I can see that she give to Abul a plastic of 'BIG APPLE'. Doughnut! She is very kind. It must be expensive. She is really kind to us. Then I have a look at the doughnut. There is many kind and I don't know which one I should choose. Then, I and Bukhari choose the kiwi flavor one. We share it. It is very delicious and mouth-watering. Thank you, Miss Dila!

Study time...

9 JUNE 2009

The class start as usual. Everything was normal. Miss Dila come to our class. She is very punctual person. Sometimes she is an early bird (like last class) too, as an early bird catch the worm. It is vital to be on time or better be early. As a future doctor I should remember that time is golden. Today, we are learning on how to examine our patient and make the diagnosis. It's an all new experience for me. I never thought that a doctor need to learn about what they should say to his or her patient. Before this, I expect that all word from the doctor are sincere from their heart. I know that most of the doctor nowadays are sincere in doing their job. Maybe there are some who are not(I hope that I am not one of them). That's all depend on the individual.

Every class, we learn a moral. Last class we learn that we should not sleep late by burning the midnight oil. Today, I learn that we should take breakfast. Today our class is very silent. Most of my classmates did not take their breakfast. This should be a reminder for me. Next class we are going to have a role play between male and female. The one who present the most interesting role play will get a surprise. I can't wait for that.

A SURPRISE!!

5 JUNE 2009

Miss Dila comes to the class earlier today. All the students in the class was in silent mode and wonder, " Does Miss Dila change the class with ARABIC LANGUAGE subject? ". Everyone seem to be confuse including me. When the lesson start to begin, all of a sudden, a student ask Miss Dila, "Is this your class? Because now it suppose to be Arabic subject". Her face turn to pink. Maybe she is a little bit shy. She realized her mistake and mad because no one tell her about that earlier. She explain that she has a lot of work to do(as she is still a student) and she just sleep 2 hours last night. Wow! I never expected I can sleep just 2 hours per day. Maybe she just did not get enough sleep. That occurence was a little bit funny for me.

At 10.00 a.m. , the 'actual' class begin. We learn on how to take medical history of patient. One activity that I cannot forget is when we were asked to walk around the class and make small talk with the other student. It is quite interesting activity but maybe I am a little shy. We have to mingle with each other and finally I manage to do it. Yes!

The presentation day! What!!

2 JUNE 2009

What!! I cannot believe it! All of sudden, I am being told by my class rep, Abul a few days ago that my group and I are going to present on Ancient Egyptian Medicine today. Maybe this is too fast. I had never met Miss Dila and suddenly I got to do a presentation. But I try to understand this situation. Our study schedule in INTEC was very pack. Maybe the INTEC management do this to prepare me to survive in the stressful life of university in Egypt. I know this is the best way to train us. Since this is the first day I attend the English class (maybe not for others), I need to introduce myself. Then, the presentation began (my heart beated rapidly and I got stomach ache. I think it is normal). I had prepared the slide and now it is the show time. The members of my group are myself, Abul, Asyraf, Afif and Amar. I explained on the history and culture of ancient Egyptian. I got many comments from the audience on how I delivered the speech especially from Miss Dila. I know I am not very good in communication skill but I will improve myself. I remember what Miss Dila had said. She said that 'This is the powerpoint and not poweressay'. I agree with her. I was lucky I got to hear this comment today, if not, I am sure that I will be going do this on the real presentation day. Thank you Miss Dila! The other groups present on acupuncture, Ayurveda and confinement. I think all my classmate good in communication skill except me. I will do something to change this! This is my mission..

Not Again!!

29 MAY 2009

Today was the second time I cannot attent Miss Dila's Class. I hope she didn't mad at me (It is not my fault, I have to do it). I need to finish my medical check up today. Last Tuesday, I have been injected by a vaccine to detect for Tuberculosis(TB) disease at UiTM Medical Centre. This test is called 'Mantoux Test'. The injected part of my body has been swollen like a volcano which going to be explode. I think it is too much. Maybe it is just about my feeling. What if I have TB disease? Oh, no! My mission to go to Egypt will be terminated. I have heard from my friend, if the swollen part is exceeding 0.2mm, it is confirm that I have TB. I was very scared on that time. But everything changed. The nurse told me that the minimum size was 2cm. I was very relieved. Then I met the doctor and he confirmed that I was in fit. As fit as fiddle though I am not an athlete. The doctor said that I was all ready to fly!
