Yahoo!!

10 JULY 2009

The clock showed 10.10 a.m. but Miss Dila still not showed up. So I went out of the class to refresh myself. I feel a little bit sleepy today. Suddenly, Miss Dila came but not alone. She bring her friend with her. It's quite surprise.
Then, we entered the class. It's quite warm in our class as the air conditioner was malfunction. I think that was the reason why whole my classmate looked sleepy. Miss Dila realized our condition and asked us to stand up and take a deep breath. I think this manages to reenergized us. Then, we continued our lesson to finish the unit 3 about breaking bad news. We just learn a lesson today and after that, surprisingly, Miss Dila made a spell-it-right quiz. I only dot 52/66. I think it is not very good but it is not so bad.
Yahoo!! Today I am going back to Terengganu. I can't wait for that. I miss my parent a lot. ♥♥♥

Move Class...

7 JULY 2009

I can't believe this. My class had been moved to block U. It's quite hard to find my class (U207) at first. Sometimes I lost and after getting around I finally managed to find my new class. What is waiting for me? I don't know how the class look like. Is it like a meeting room like my last class? Is it more chill than last class until I had to wear the sweater? All that questions came into my mind.

I entered the class. I was very surprise?
It is like my class at my secondary school and it is worse than my last class. I can't accept this. Why this should happened to me?
The class is more bigger, I can't deny it. But, the air-conditioner is malfunction. I try to adapt myself to this new situation as I am a flexible person (I think). In addition, this is not going to be long.
...............................................................
Today was the second day of replay. What catch my attention was Abul was still not coming. It was Asyraf and Abul group will present the role play later. This is going to be worse. Asyraf looked nervous. When the time was coming, Abul was still not showing his face. Teacher decide to proceed the role play and mark of Abul and Asyraf group will be reduce. I felt a little bit shocked.

Miss Dila told to the class that she was warded yesterday. Miss Dila was given the IV drip but it has been misconnected by the intern nurse. All her hand was swollen. But after the mistaken has been corrected, the IV drop enter her body easily. I hope there was nothing serious happened to Miss Dila. I will pray so that she get well immediately.

Lights....Camera....Action!!!

3 JULY 2009

Finally today was the day for the role play. I was pair with Bukhari or we call him Bob or his popular name is Harry Potter(as he look exactly like Harry Potter). We were going to break news about meningitis. This disease could cause fatal if the patient are not given an immediate treatment. We were the fourth group to present. Our role play were going smoothly. Maybe there are some problem like the slide that I had prepared last night was corrupted. Maybe it’s just a test from Allah to us. The role play from other group was very interesting especially from the girls. Their acts was exactly like in the TV drama and it almost make me cry. They are such a good actor.

Luckily...

30 JUNE 2009

Today, Miss Dila was not coming to the class. This is quite weird because Miss Dila never missed our class. But, I understand her. Maybe she has some work to do. This is good opportunity to as tomorrow my group need to pass up the assignment of Civilization in Islamic Medicine. I will not waste this opportunities. I went to the library to surf the internet to browse information for my assignment. Most of my times I spend at the library. It really help me a lot. Maybe it is good not to have laptop and modem as I will use it to surf the friendster, facebook, myspace and so on. Maybe if I have laptop and modem I will careless and cannot concentrate on my study. I am glad I did not have them. Actually, today I had prepared for the role play. But after I received the SMS from Abul that say Miss Dila is not coming to the class I feel a little bit disappointed.

Continue the lesson..

26 JUNE 2009

Today, we continue our lesson on breaking bad news. What is important in breaking bad news is how we say it. There are two type of tone use by human, that is accusing tone and supporting tone. As a doctor, we should use supporting tone. By this way, we can help the patients gain his/her spirit against his/her disease. The patients really need moral support in this time and we cannot simply accuse them doing what they are not doing. For example for HIV patient, we cannot accuse them having a free sex. If we accuse them like that, it will make them down and finally give up. We stop the lesson at lesson 5 as Nazrin is not coming to the class today. She was back to his hometown last night. Maybe he is homesick. "It would not be fair for Nazrin if we continue the lesson", said Miss Dila. She was very caring. But, next week, I am going to have a role play.
What??????????????
I can't believe it.........

Breaking Bad News

23 JUNE 2009

Breaking bad news is one part of doctor's daily life. Although it is doctor's responsibility not to scare the patients but in certain case they should. A future doctor should learn a proper way to break bad news to the patients. They cannot just simply say "You only have 4 months before you are going to die". The doctor should not do like this. It is hard for the patients to accept the bad news and it is doctor's responsibility to explain to the patient about his/her condition. The patient really need moral support and motivational word on that time. At least, the doctor should help the patient in facing the disease that attack the patient... By doing this, at least the patient have someone to share about his problem and make the patient feel more relieve.
This is the better way....

Grammar class

19 JUNE 2009

This evening, I had an grammar extra class. It is compulsory. I prefer to go as I am still not expert in grammar. This class was held after the friday's prayer. That's why I feel a little bit tired and sleepy but I try to get as much input as I could. If not I just waste my time by going to this class. We learned on the simple grammar. Although I have learned a bout it in secondary school but this class help me a lot in refreshing my mind. Besides, wee were also given an expaination on our individual report. This is really important as it will effect my mark. I have a little conffusion on APA format of reference. But, after a long explaination by Miss Dila and Miss Hasnah, I think I have understand it better.

Working under pressure

16 JUNE 2009

Today we learned unit 2 that is working under pressure. I think this is vital for a fresh doctor to learn about this, especially for who are first time transfer to the emergency department. In emergency department we cannot be so slow. We must work very fast. The doctor must be 24 hours alert if there is any emergency case such as car accident. The system that is usually used in emergency department is Triage System. The patient are categorized to 3 category. First category is the obvious emergency patient like non-stop bleeding, heart attack, stroke, accident or women who are going to give birth. The second category is strong potential patient and the third category re potential. Usually the first category will be given more priority. That is why other patient who just have a non-critical disease need to wait for a little bit. I hope they can understand this situation particularly at government hospital.
